Tantus Vamp - hedonish.com
Exterminate! Okay, I’m a dork… and my Vamp looked sort of like a spaceship.

The Tantus Vamp is a beautiful piece of silicone. I received a Grab Bag Vibrating Vamp, which showed up in a vivid red with gold swirls. The Vamp is a mostly straight dildo with an incredible coronal ridge and subtle groves throughout the shaft (like very defined veins). While The Vamp is an anatomically semi-realistic dildo, it’s offered in two less-than-realistic colors, Cream, a pearlescent off-white, and Purple Haze, a pearly dark lavender, which take the realism down a notch, possibly making it more appealing to those who find lifelike dildos off-putting. The Vamp, like all Tantus toys, is made from 100% ultra-premium silicone, meaning they’re body safe, phthalate free, and can be sanitized. The silicone is listed as being flexible on Tantus’ website, and I can bend the Vamp into a slight u-shape, but given the lack of squish, I would consider it to be quite firm compared to other silicone toys I’ve used.Tantus Vamp - hedonish.com

The Vamp seems to be made from a similar silicone to the G-Force, and both have a fair amount of drag, which is remedied by a hefty amount of lube. All the other dildos I own are smaller or dual-density and I was surprised at how large the firm silicone makes this toy feel. The overall length of the Vamp is about 7.75″ with a little under 7″ being insertable, and for my body, there’s usually plenty left over to use as a handle. The diameter of the Vamp is 1.75″, with a circumference of 5.5″ at the widest point around the head and a 5″ around the shaft of the toy. The wide-flanged base of The Vamp makes it safe for anal play but was a too large for me to play with anally.

Tantus_Vamp_6What separates the Tantus Vamp from the Tantus Vibrating Vamp is the bullet vibe Tantus includes. While the base of the regular Vamp is solid, the base of the Vibrating Vamp has a .75″ diameter cutout to that fits the bullet vibrator Tantus provides with the toy. The cut out also features convenient grooves inside to allow for easy removal of the bullet, but the silicone texture holds the bullet well enough that it won’t come out on its own. The interior depth of the cut out is slightly smaller than the length of the bullet, so there’s no need to worry about pushing it in too far by accident. Side note: it’s easier to get in and out if you don’t insert the bullet past the small colored ring, but you still get all the vibrations.

Tantus_Vamp_3I don’t have high expectations where bullet vibes are concerned, but I found that the Tantus bullet vibe was slightly stronger than I expected, however I personally still need stronger vibrations, so other than it feeling pleasant it didn’t do much for me. What I do find a little irritating is that the bullet uses an “N” battery, which is not generally something you’d have in the junk drawer (I know you have a junk drawer too, don’t deny it). In its defense, the Tantus Bullet came with a battery so you won’t need to run to the store immediately, and I’ve used the bullet a number of times and the battery hasn’t died yet. That said, let’s all agree it’s easier when battery-operated toys run on AA or AAA batteries since they’re the easiest to come by. If you’re looking for a stronger bullet vibrator or one that doesn’t need batteries, the WeVibe Tango can also be used. The hole cut out for the bullet also makes the Tantus Vamp compatible with a Tantus suction cup (sold separately), so if it’s available the vibrating option is a good one to purchase.

Silicone is my personal favorite of all sex toy materials; its non-porous texture means it can be sterilized. Like all non-motorized silicone toys the Vamp (minus the vibrating bullet) can be cleaned by washing with antibacterial soap and warm water, or you can sterilize by boiling or washing it on the top rack of your dishwasher without detergent if you have a sanitize setting. Another good option is a 10% bleach, 90% water solution but the smell of bleach makes me sick, so I stick to using the dishwasher when possible (also it’s easier). Just make sure to stick with a water-based lube, as silicone lube can bond with the silicone of the toy.

Tantus Vamp - hedonish.comThe first few drafts of this review were not quite as positive as the final review. My first thoughts upon trying my Tantus Vibrating Vamp were, “Umm… I think my eyes might be bigger than my vagina” followed by “I’m going to need more lube.” At 1.75″ in diameter, this is the thickest toy I own, but it’s not really that large in the scope of toys available on the market. I also feel like describing something as big or small is entirely subjective and will depend on whom you are asking; but for my body, this toy felt large the first time I used it. And the second. And the third, fourth, fifth, etc… leading me to wonder what the hell is up with my vagina, because when I say it felt large, it wasn’t the satisfying full feeling I was hoping for, it frankly was a bit uncomfortable, no matter how much lube I applied. Eventually with the help of coconut oil as lube (which helped to further resolve any issues with drag from the silicone), although I still feel uncomfortably full for a minute or two after insertion, using my Vamp started to feel really good.

Tantus Vamp - hedonish.comOnce my Vamp and I were on better terms, I found that there’s lots of good stimulation no matter how you use it. The gradual widening head of the Vamp felt great being slowly inserted over and over, and the super defined coronal ridge offered a lot of pleasant sensations against my inner walls when thrusting. It’s also great if you’re looking for a toy that you can just leave in place to give your muscles something to clench around. Looking at this toy I thought it might offer good g-spot stimulation, and while it might for some people it didn’t really for me. I think it was largely not being able to angle the ridge to where I need it, but this didn’t detract from my experience using the Vamp.

You can pick up your very own Vamp on Tantus’ website.

It’s so pretty! It’s almost a shame you got this through grab bag and other people can’t just order this color combo. It’s super gorgeous.

  2. You posed the dildo with a Dalek! 10000 wonderfully nerdy points! I love Tantus, and while I haven’t tried this one, it looks fabulous- the color alone is fabulous. This looks like a delicious toy to try!
